Ford's Garage

Travel distance/time from Florida Delight (12.8 miles: 31 minutes)

Ford’s Garage is a restaurant that we have been to a few times now and always enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. There are a few now in Orlando, the nearest being the new one next to junction 58 of the I4 which is their Champion’s Gate location. However, we have only been to the one which is on Margaritavilla Boulevard, Kissimmee as we enjoy Sunset Walk, Margaritaville and combining having a meal at Ford’s Garage with a stroll around the shops or watching some live entertainment if there is any on. You often have to wait for a table as is the case with most restaurants in Orlando so going to the Margaritaville venue is a good choice because you can go off for a little look round the shops  such as the large Sketchers store while waiting for your table to come available compared to the Champion’s Gate one where there is nowhere else to go whilst waiting.
The first time we went was at about 19.45 on a Wednesday evening and we only had 10 minutes to wait for a table for 2. I asked the waitress if it is always so fast to get a table and she said it depends on what time you get there and if we had gone an hour or so earlier it would have been about a 45 minute wait. This seems to be the case in a lot of places and our experience is if you can wait to eat until a little bit later the wait time is much less. The busiest time to eat seems to be around 5-7 pm.
As a restaurant we think it is a fun, family place with a real vintage car suspended from the ceiling which hoots its horn every 30 minutes or so. There are a lot of tv sports channels playing above the bar area in the typical sports bar set up.
We have enjoyed our meals every time we have gone as have our family and friends. They have a wide menu of the usual fayre such as burgers, ribs, soups, salads and sandwiches
